Abi’s Wedding (and Pauls too I Suppose!)

Last weekend we went to my beautiful sister-in-laws wedding to my brother Paul.

It was a wonderful day and much joy was had.

The ceremony was lovely and the food was divine, and my nibblings were all little terrors!

It was held at Kersy Mill, near Haverhill in Suffolk and the surroundings were really nice, the building was a converted mill and was pretty nice.

It was just a really awesome day all round to be frank.

On the Sunday we popped into Ipswich, had dinner at Prezzo and saw Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, but we missed the last 5-10 minutes as there was a fire alarm and the cinema was evacuated.

The long stairs out of the cinema left be too exhausted to return to the screen, so we kinda gave up and went back to my parents, curse my lack of spoons!

Film was awesome though!

What I Am Modelling

I started out with the Necron Triarch Stalkers

Followed by some Triarch Praetorians

After that I painted up my Helions for the Drukhari, two units of them!

What I Am Reading

I have now started on David Annadale’s, In the Coils of the Labyrinth which is so far pretty good.

Still listening to Lukas the Trickster by Josh Reynolds, about 4 hours into that now.

What Tabletop Games I Am Playing

I had a game of Munchkin Warhammer 40,000 at Warhammer World, which was won by Lindsay!

And on Wednesday my DnD group met and Graham tried to knock someone out, by throwing a knife in their neck and rolling a nat 20!

What Video Games I Am Playing

More Witcher 3 is being played, currently working on side missions and Witcher Contracts to level up!

And my playthrough of Control: Ultimate Edition has seen me upload the videos from the week

What I Am Backing

I backed the Dungeon Fantasy Roleplaying Game Monster Seeds project by Steve Jackson Games, I would have loved to be able to back it at the physical level, but alas they are no longer doing any physical rewards for people outside of the US, which is sad.

What I Am Winning

I won a copy of The Curator by Owen King, so that’s going on the TBR pile.

What I Am Spending

I did add a small package of Star Wars games to my collection with a little bundle, those being:

I also got a PS5 controller charger, the PS5 is gonna move downstairs so we need an easier way to charge the two DualSense controllers that are moving with it.

I won a £25 voucher for Amazon from a KFC competition so I used that to buy a £15 PlayStation voucher to get Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, and some LED lights for the pegboard I am planning on buying next week. Still awaiting delivery of the LEDS.

I ordered the Abhorant Ghoul King with Crown of Delusion from Warhammer Middlesbrough on Boxing Day (or the day after) and he finally arrived, and of course he is now built and ready to paint!

My Baby Brothers Wedding

This weekend we took a trip to Cornwall, to see my baby brother Daniel get married.

He and Chelsea make a wonderful couple, they share two amazing little girls and seeing them make that lifelong commitment was very special.

Daniel has grown into a wonderfully well rounded young man, and is a fantastic father, I could not be more proud of who he has become.

Chelsea is an absolutely darling woman and such a good match for Daniel, I honestly cannot say enough good things about this wonderful couple.

We stayed at their house, where we took up the job of cat sitting Boo and Sully as well as Ki Ki and Nacho, Chelsea’s mums dogs.

So that was fun and cost saving! But it did mean we could take an extra day to stay in Cornwall, see some sights and spend a bit of time with the girls.

It’s a long distance between us, on the way down we stayed over in Cheltenham, and on the way back we stayed in Nottingham so I could make a brief visit to Warhammer World.

We had breakfast there and then made the journey back to Durham.

What I Am Modelling

I only had a couple of days before I went off to Cornwall.

But I did manage to get painted up a trio of Heavy Weapons Teams for my Death Korps of Krieg, all with Heavy Bolters.

I then finished off a unit of Necron Warriors, Scarabs and Hasmoteph the Resplendent for my Sautekh Dynasty.

And finally I managed to get a Knight Warden for House Taranis finished up, that really just needed it’s transfers as I had been working on it for a while.

Still working on Triptych by Jaleigh Johnson, but I am almost finished with it now.

What Video Games Am I Playing

Not much, mostly just the odd game of Halo: The Master Chief Collection Multiplayer to get the points for the Microsoft Rewards scheme.

What Tabletop Games Am I Playing

In Warhammer World today, me and Lindsay played a game of Combat Arena, Lindsay beat me very easily!

What I Am Creating

The latest Warhammer Imperium battle reports is out, this time for issue 8.

And I also got the next episode of Edge of Empire uploaded.

What I Am Backing

Nowt right now, but I have been told that Orlog is on its way.

And the Avatar Legends campaign is going to have delayed shipping due to a cardboard and paper shortage.

What I Am Cooking

Not a sausage!

What I Am Spending

I grabbed a can of Leadbelcher spray and a Warhammer World Exclusive Armoured Troll for Blood Bowl on my visit to Warhammer World on Monday.

I also grabbed Star Trek: Elite Force 2 from GOG, and a couple of Iron Harvest DLC, Rusviet Revolution and Operation Eagle on Steam.

Mary & Paul’s Wedding

This weekend we took a trip to North Wales to see two of our polycule members, Paul and Mary get married.

On our way to Wales we stopped in Manchester, where we visited Fanboy 3, Travelling Man and Warhammer, whilst the girls called into their favourite tea shop, Bird and Blend.

We then had lunch at Home Sweet Home, as recommended by David Salisbury of Fanboy 3 fame, and I had a beautiful chicken in a basket with an amazing gravy.

Paul loves trains, potentially in a slightly worrying amount. And unsurprisingly they got married at a heritage railway, but all the way over in Wales.

It was a lovely day and full of lots of fun, the food was quite nice too and I had a lovely bit of Welsh lamb.

We stayed quite a bit away so couldn’t stay the whole night but it was so much fun. it was Steampunk themed so I dressed up as a steampunk engineer.

They even cut the cake with a sword.

The rest of our trip we stayed at a cottage in Bethesda which whilst a bit dated was nice and comfortable.

On Saturday we out on a trip to Llanfair­pwllgwyngyll­gogery­chwyrn­drobwll­llan­tysilio­gogo­goch, and I murdered any attempt to pronounce the name of the place.

We had a lovely cup of tea in the cafe and I attempted to read welsh words on the menu.

On Sunday we took a drive up to Tryfan and Llyn Bochlwyd and I have to admit that Wales is rather pretty.

On Monday we made our way home via Harrogate, where we stopped off for a break and to stretch our legs.

And now we are almost home, and a Chinese takeaway is the food plan for tonight!

Only one thing painted this week due to being away, and that was this Thousand Sons Terminator Squad and Ahriman for Heresy.

Plodding on with Dark Avengers: The Patriot List by David Guymer and plan to finish it in the next day or so

What Video Games I Am Playing

Played a bit of Halo 3: ODST which I forgot had such an amazing soundtrack.

I also played a bit more State of Decay 2, and I think this is something I will come back to, I only played it for the GamePass Quest, but found myself really enjoying it.

But I was playing it over cloud gaming on a 3G signal so it was very laggy and a bit rubbish.

What Tabletop Games I Am Playing

We played a fair few games whilst away on holiday in North Wales, starting with Munchkin Steampunk.

This was followed by a couple of games of Codenames Pictures.

And finally on Saturday we played Colt Super Express which was really fun!

On Sunday we started with a game of Catch the Moon, which was won by Megan.

Then before lunch we played a game of Ticket to Ride Japan which Lindsay won.

And before tea we played a game of Calico and this time Megan won.

What I Am Creating

I published a battle report, done differently to my others, this one has focused solely on the games narrative rather than getting fussy about dice roles etc.

It’s very rough but I am headed in the right direction at last.

What I Am Backing

Rawr! Velociraptor! was funded and as we said we backed just for the greatest hits album and I look forward to getting that.

What I Am Cooking

Not a sausage yet again 🙁
